Donate yourself

As much as we’d like to give to charity, not a lot of us have the spare time or cash to donate. Now, The Vodafone Foundation has solved this problem

Make a difference

A new initiative called World of Difference UK gives you the opportunity to donate yourself to charity for two months. World of Difference is giving 500 people over the age of 18 in the UK a chance to work for a local charity of their choice, on a paid placement.

There are many participating charities across Britain in numerous sectors including entertainment, education and the environment. There are also various manual and non-manual roles which means that you can match your interests and strengths to find the most suitable placement, and gain a relevant addition to your CV. Andrew Dunnett, Director of the foundation, says: “for people who feel passionate about a charity or cause, or for those who simply have time on their hands, Vodafone Foundation’s World of Difference programme offers an ideal opportunity to help others whilst gaining valuable life and work experience.”

By using the Charity Matchmaker tool on the Vodafone website, you can find a placement that’s perfect for you and apply there and then. The deadline for applications is 3rd November, and placements start in January. If successful, Vodafone will pay your charity £2,500 and you’ll receive the balance (after Tax and National Insurance deductions). You will also receive a brand new phone with credit.

If you want the chance to make a difference, apply now for one of 500 paid charity placements, visit vodafone.co.uk/worldofdifference and get cracking. Good Luck!
