New star: Anika Noni Rose

America got its first black president last year, this year Disney inaugurates its first black princess in The Princess and The Frog.

Anika Noni Rose plays Princess Tiana in Disney's latest animated comedy. You know the story - a beautiful girl meets a frog who desperately wants to be human again - hilarity, warm and fuzzy feelings, massive disney songs and (naturally) happily ever after ensues.

You may recognise Anika from Dreamgirls, where she played Lorrell Robinson alongside Beyonce and Jennifer Hudson. She's also pretty big news on Broadway, where she's won a string of awards.

Here's Anika in a dress designed by the fashion world's new Prince Charming William Tempest for the champagne tea party. Tempest has designed dresses for a whole load of A-listers including Madonna and Victoria Beckham. Tempest's dress was inspired by the movie's lead character. 'The Princess and the Frog' is released on 5th February.
