The new hotel in the roundabout at Waterloo - Park Plaza

We just wanted to thank Park Plaza, on behalf of London, for removing the hideous abandoned building from the roundabout at the south side of Westminster Bridge.

We’ve just heard that everything’s going to plan with the new Park Plaza Westminster Bridge and they’ve got a ‘soft opening’ on the 4th February 2010. What’s a soft opening? It’s kind of like a rehearsal before the full opening.

The new hotel’s not just going to be a pretty face, it’s got 1021 rooms, including 54 suites and penthouses, a huge ballroom, a luxury spa and load of business facilities. It’ s five minutes walk from Waterloo and Westminster stations and a short crawl to the Southbank.

If the Park Plaza over the road is anything to go by, this is going to be a great place to stay and hang out. Here’s a sneak preview, we’ll tell you all about the hotel once the doors are open.
