Halloween 2009 in London
A bit bored of Halloween? Feel a 'bit old' for dressing up and acting like a complete idiot on the streets of London?

Phil Muncaster
A little bit scared that those chavvy kids from round the corner decide to lay siege to your house in some cruel Trick or Treat-based game? Well don't be. Halloween doesn't often fall on a Saturday, after all, so we should all think of it as a massive excuse to go forth and be merry.
So here's a quick, non-exhaustive round-up of what's on offer:
The
Big Chill House wins the prize for best Halloween party name with: "I Spit on your Rave, a Halloween Zombie Party" featuring rave pioneers Altern8 kicking some old skool while AV dons DJ Food and Cheeba drop their unique brand of horrorcore beats. Whatever the hell any of that means.
Over in Notting Hill, the
Tabernacle plays host to an 80s themed
horror party extravaganza from the
team behind boutique festival Winterwell. Acts include the The Monster Club, and The Top Cats, a full ten-piece ska, rocksteady and reggae band.
Still not convinced? Well, Balinese club and restaurant Taman Gang is putting on a whole weekend of horror-themed madness, starting with a Rocky Horror Show night on Friday, followed by Baliween – "a fusion of Eastern mystery and a thrilling clubbing experience" apparently - on the Saturday and then more shenanigans on the Sunday. Samuel L Jackson's even been, so it must be good!
Finally, the The Brickhouse restaurant, bar and club on Brick Lane is pulling all the stops out on Saturday, with a panoply of avant garde acts hanging from the ceiling, doing strange things with rope and generally terrifying all-comers. Tabula Rasa residents, Jimi Mistry and Tony S, as well as Chan from the Monophunk crew and house music legends Digs & Whoosh from the DIY soundsystem will provide the choonz. Those wearing masks will only pay a fiver!
