Time to Get Loaded

The final line-up for the capital's last big musical festival has just been announced and it's looking like a fine way to end the summer.

If you’re stuck in the city all summer and have been restricted to watching all the music festival fun on TV, here’s your chance to get some of the action and see some of the hottest festival acts of 2008. Clapham Common’s legendary Get Loaded in the Park festival has a rocking line up and it looks like it’s about to sell out for its fifth consecutive year.

Get Loaded takes place over the August bank holiday weekend and sees Iggy & The Stooges headlining on their last UK date of 2008. There is a plethora of other festival regulars and new talent. You’ll find Supergrass, Gogol Bordello, The Hives, Kate Nash, Gossip and Reverend & The Makers amongst the live acts and DJs Soulwax, Mylo, Yoda, Plump DJs, Krafty Kuts, Utah Saints and more.

This year’s line-up is the best so far and stages are hosted by XFM, Together/Timeout and Finger Lickin’ Records which celebrates its 10th Anniversary at the event. If it isn't the best city festival in the country (we reckon it is), it's definitely got the best official after-party.

The festival fun continues on Clapham Grand’s flashing dancefloor, a short stagger away from the common at cunningly titled Get Loaded in the Dark. They've lined up Jon McClure - frontman for the ace Reverend & The Makers, Bez from the Happy Mondays (an original Get Loaded), DJ Yoda, Beardyman, XFM’s radio guru John Kennedy and future-superstars Streetlife DJs to finishing off the night in true acid house fashion.
