Burlesque classes and lunch at Proud Cabaret
Recently opened Proud Cabaret has launched a new programme of daily burlesque classes from industry experts at the decadent new venue.
Nestled two floors below the ground, and tucked behind Fenchurch Street Station - Proud (as in Proud Gallery etc) Cabaret is a venue you really ought to visit. It’s modelled on a luxurious 1920s speakeasy with round tables and live entertainment – cabaret, naturally.
The venue announced a new lunchtime entertainment programme as well as daily burlesque classes from some of the industry’s top specialist. London’s first school of burlesque Burlesque Baby joins award-winning performer Lola LaBelle to introduce the art of vaudeville entertainment to the masses with and old style tea party.
Participants will be treated to a tutorial in the art of the tease, accompanied by a delectable afternoon tea of finger sandwiches and a selection of hot drinks for the ultimate afternoon of indulgence.
Each day there will be a different focus to the class, with Mondays featuring feather fan dancing using giant ostrich fans and Tuesdays introducing the fundamentals of burlesque dancing. Anyone preparing for an upcoming performance can seek advice, constructive criticism and an opportunity to practice on Wednesdays, where professionals and a photographer will be on hand to support rising stars.

Launching on Monday 15th February, Martini Lunches will include a three course meal and thrilling showcases from some of London’s best newcomers on the burlesque scene three days a week. They aim to offer local office workers a break from the daily grind with a distinctive approach to the customary lunch hour. Perfect for anyone looking to enjoy an exquisite meal, quality entertainment and pick up some great lifestyle tips in the process.
