The cartoon wedge

There's something wonderful about combining kitsch nostalgia with a sexy classic. Check out these beauties from London based French-American footwear designer Angeline Tournier.

The cartoon wedge - Angeline Tournier

This shoe became a roaring success for the designer, who has has just been appointed to design a limited edition shoe to celebrate 70 years of Beano magazine. She was approached due to the success of this cartoon wedge design.

The new design will feature Dennis the Menice artwork with studs and in funky colours such as patent fluro leather. They will be displayed at the London Cartoon Museum.  The new designs will be available to buy on her online boutique early next year.

Angeline Tournier started designing shoes because she had massive feet. Seriously. She was fed up of going to specialised shoe shops which only had bland shoes, so she started making large but beautiful footwear. Now her shoe range comes in sizes UK 3 to 11.
