Commercial Sounds: Audi
What’s the music for the new Audi Q5 advert? A scribbly cartoon man makes an Audi 4X4 out of a cardboard box while a voice that sounds suspiciously like Jim Henson sings ‘Take me riding in the car’.

It isn’t the voice of a muppet. The unusual ditty was sung by American folk singing legend Woody Guthrie, one of the most important folk musicians of the twentieth century.
The strange lyrics and noises are easily explained: he wrote and performed many children’s songs and this is just one example. Woody’s best known song is This Land Is Your Land, famously covered by Bruce Springsteen.
